SciFi and everything else.

Is it pronounced si-fi or is it Ski-fi. I remember in a Monty python sketch michael palin as some kind of unctous tv host and huckster pronounces it as ski-fi. I always thought that as funny. It remind me of all ingratiating salesman sounding like they know about something they are selling but they dont know too much about it.
